MANOEUVERING OF CARAVANS / TRAILERS USING AN
ELECTRIC (POWERED) CARAVAN MOVER
VIA THE USE OF THE JOCKEY WHEEL CLAMP OR ASSEMBLY
We occasionally receive claims for the repair or replacement costs to jockey
wheel clamps and / or chassis members,
Upon investigation it has been established that in some instances damage, stress or
distortion has been the result of an electric caravan mover being located and operated
in the jockey wheel clamp housing.
Whilst in many cases problems have not arisen, we must advise that we WILL NOT
accept any claim for repair or replacement of jockey wheel housings or chassis
members where damage has been caused by the use of a mover in place of a jockey
wheel assembly. Damage caused by using the jockey wheel clamp or housing in this
way invalidates warranty.
The AL-KO chassis has been designed to be manoeuvred under power from the
Coupling Head and therefore advise that if such movers are to be used, then
our recommendation is to use the type of machine which has a 50mm ball
permanently located on the mover, onto which the caravan/trailer coupling
head locates.
