Shifta Background
Mr Shifta3 has the most powerful motor/gearbox combination fitted to any caravan mover today. It is built into a heavy gauge steel chassis and has twin drive wheels. The machine carries its own semi-traction battery on board and is operated by simple twist grip controls. Our Mr Shifta3 is unique in being the first machine to locate in the caravan hitch just like your car (see opposite).

The essence of a successful caravan mover is to apply sound engineering principles to the concept. We at Shifta Products saw that the hitch was the only point on the caravan designed by the manufacturers to push and pull the caravan under power. Al-Ko Kober, who manufacture 90% of all caravan chassis in the UK recommend our method of fitting in the hitch and warn that damage caused to a chassis by the use of any other type of caravan mover will not be covered under their warranty.
Technical Stuff
The Mr Shifta3 uses a brand new high tech control system such as those used on electric forklift trucks, with an automatically resetting fuse built into the circuit board. An automatic 2-stage slow start facility gives precise control. The new motor and gearbox produces 200nm, which is 25% more power than Mr Shifta2 produced. Our twist grip controls can be worked by either hand, allowing you to see along the sides of your caravan by standing to either the right or left of your Shifta. Our twist grips are self-centering to the stop position and are much easier to use than switches or buttons operated by finger or thumb.
The total weight of Mr Shifta3 is 40kg (881lb's). The battery makes up half the weight. The Shifta handle can be removed for winter storage or transportation.
Health and Safety
If your health is a problem, the Mr Shifta3 is the most user friendly portable caravan mover available. Once it has been set to your caravan by our demonstrator all you will ever need to do is drive it from its storage position and pop your caravan onto the ball. Manoeuvre your caravan to your car, remove the Mr Shifta and return it to its storage.
There is no carrying or lifting involved with Mr Shifta3. The battery can be charged in situ without disconnecting the leads, just flick up the rear cover to expose the terminals and clip on your battery charger leads.

Our demonstrator will contact you and make an appointment to bring along a new machine for you to try. The Mr Shifta3 will be set up to your hitch, which is a once only setting to suit your particular caravan. He will instruct you in the use of the Mr Shifta3 and then demonstrate it by completing the routine that you normally undertake at home.
You will then be given the opportunity to operate it yourself, under his guidance, until you are happy that you will be able to manoeuvre the caravan to your satisfaction.
If you decide to buy the Mr Shifta3, we would accept payment by cheque or cash and leave the machine with you. This ensures that you buy the machine that you have seen, tried and tested and also avoids delivery charge at a later date.
Guarantee
4 years parts and labour followed by 2 years free labour. Machines returned for repair are usually completed the day of arrival at the works.
The semi-traction battery is an industrial battery and therefore has a 12 month guarantee from the manufacturers as they assume it will be working many hours per week, however Mr Shiftas up to 12 years old are still using the original battery successfully. As with any guarantee, neglect and abuse are excluded, and consideration is given to fair wear.
